I've uploaded it to Youtube if anyone wants to view it: Managed to get a game play recording using GeForce Experience which also shows the sound errors as they are occurring. If I'm not mistaken they don't spawn in until you're halfway up the stairs.Īnyways, I go into the other rooms and the sound comes back on, and the raiders banging on the door have now spawned in and are speaking their lines.Ĭould this be a symptom of something else that may cause the sound issue? Going up the stairs there was no subtitles of them saying their lines, they just simply not there. They hadn't come down the stairs after me, they weren't even spawned in. The raiders who are normally at the door banging on it to get in are not even there. Raider 2 - "Stop being such a pansy."Īnyways, the sound cuts out during their conversation, and I go upstairs to the door where Preston is and it's locked, saying it needs a key. Raider 1 - "What are you deaf? Somebody's out there shooting the place up. Those same two raiders have a conversation, one is timid and the other is mad. I was going upstairs after having killed the two raiders by the freedom memorial, the wall picture of American war history over the ages. It still happened, but there was a unique twist this time in the Museum of Freedom (where you meet Preston / Sturges etc) Just to test to see if it is mod related. Running pure vanilla, no F4SE, nothing else. Today I uninstalled Fallout 4, Vortex, all of it's mods etc. Sounds cutting out is still occurring, but I may have encountered another possible cause of it? I want to enjoy this game again, but simply can't due to this annoying issue.Ĭopy / paste of system specs below (C/O Steam's system information menu) My old computer was Windows 7, this new one is Windows 10. Whilst I play with mods, I've only installed mods that I was using on my old computer, and on that machine it worked fine without any issue. This has only happened since I got my new computer. But then the silence issue comes up again maybe 5 or 10 minutes later, and starts over again. What happens is Fallout 4 when loading into the game is fine, but then after about a few minutes or so sounds will go mute.īeing in combat, or moving / sprinting tends to accelerate it going silent.īackground music continues to play without issue, as does some constant ambient sounds (such as Codsworth's engine / thruster sound loop, or Dogmeat's panting noises etc).Īfter about 10 to 20 seconds of silence, the game will then freeze, and all sounds that were due to play all play at once and the game runs ok. I have an issue with in game sounds going silent.
